I just thought i’d introduce the Duvv Life Stream feature.
What the heck is this you may ask, well i guess the best way to describe it is an “Automatic Communal Twitter” like feature. Or a cross between the WordPress.com Tags feature.. And something else, but we don’t know what.
How it works is snippets of posts from across the Duvv Network are “fed” in to the Life Stream, which look a bit like Twitter entries. They are automatically categorized, so if your blog has a category called Small Business the Life Stream will add it to the cloud on the front page plus create a category for it, and when this “Small Business” tag is clicked it goes to the Twitter like page full of snippets about Small Business.
This is a mashup of short content snippets from all across Duvv.com about small business. You can read these snippets for things of interest, and they in turn link to the full article on the users blog like this one so you can read the full story directly on the users blog.
Sound nifty?
Well we think it is, you can think of it like a big catalog of content on the Duvv network that’s categorized by topic so you can browse for stuff you are interested in and in turn visit the authors blog.
Do you like Stamps? Just visit the Life Stream home page and click the Stamps tag, well there’s isn’t one yet but it will be automagically created as soon as someone writes about stamps. From there you can read short, easy to digest snippets of posts about stamps. See an interesting snippet and click it and BAM you are on the users blog at the full article about stamps you are interested in.
So it’s great to find interesting information from around Duvv, and a great way to network with others who have similar interests as yourself. Currently the Life Stream is in early Beta, and we are still ironing out some kinks but all in all it’s working great. This feature will be Opt In, meaning you have to elect to appear in the Stream from your dashboard.
