Yeppers, slowly but surely things at Duvv are starting to take shape.
As you can see the whole site has had a makeover from head to toe, with a great design in place and all coded up with nicely valid xHTML. So default Wordpress Kubrick theme be gone, and hello Duvv v1.1 Beta with more options and features popping up daily.
On the home page, you can see there is a showcase of the latest blogs that have been updated under the “Recently Updated Blogs” section. This is designed to show a range of blogs from across the whole Duvv network, on various topics and help visitors and other blog owners discover blogs they are interested in. We have also added the same list as a sidebar widget on everyone’s individual blogs.
Q. What if i don’t want my blog showing on the home page, and what if i don’t want links to other blogs on my blog?
A. That’s a simple one, firstly if your blog is marked as Adult or if you have elected not to have your blog indexed by Search Engines you will automatically not appear on the Duvv home page or on other users blogs.
If this is not the case and you are displaying, you can also opt-out in your admin panel under the settings menu. If you just remove the “Network” widget, no blogs will show on your sidebar and you will not show on other users blogs but you will still show on the Duvv.com home page. Make sense?
Do Nothing - You display on the Duvv.com home page “and” other users blogs, and they show on your sidebar also.
Remove Network Widget - You display on the Duvv.com home page, but “not” across the network of blogs and no other blogs display on yours.
Opt Out - You do “not” display on the Duvv.com home page or on users blogs, and they do not display on yours.
We have also implemented a “Latest Posts From Across Duvv” feature on the home page, this is similar to the latest blogs but shows links and titles for the latest 5 posts from across the network. This is designed to highlight specific content. You can also opt out from displaying on the Duvv home page, also this feature is not present on individual blogs just the home page.
We hope both these additions will help deliver new traffic to your blogs, and circulate traffic around the Duvv network. The end goal is to help connect users with similar interests and make new friends.
I hope you enjoy the first of many improvements and enhancements, if you have any suggestions feel free to comment. Also you can contact us using the contact form in the top menu (yeah that’s new too)
The Duvv Team!
